Jane Austen events at Raynes Park

Regency Ballroom workshops with Mrs Bennet's Ballroom: learn and enjoy the lively dances of the Regency era!  At Raynes Park Library on Saturday 9 April (3.00--4.30pm), 

Thursday 14 April (5.00--6.30pm) 

Saturday 23 April (3.00-4.30pm).  And a Tea Dance, 

Saturday 30 April (2.30--4,30pm).  Booking is required, via Eventbrite.

Local history talks have resumed, running from 10.30am to noon, including time for questions.  For the present, attendance is limited to 20 and of you want to come along, please either book via Eventbrite, or notify Library staff.  March and April talks are listed below; the remaining programme (so far) is:

  • Tuesday 19 April, 10.30am -- 12 noon.  Sarah Gould, on A farmer’s life… the story of the Rayne family, from farmers and landowners, to the railways of India.

  • Tuesday 17 MayThe changing face of the Wandle.  Find out how the river has changed - from its route through the Wandle Valley, to its industrial past and the development of riverside homes.  Speaker: Mick Taylor, Wandle Industrial Museum.

  • Tuesday 21 June: From Great Aunt Eileen, with love… Reminiscences of a Merton family from 1800 to 1980.  Speaker: Sarah Gould.
